Restoration Progress & Upcoming Goals

Tower Restoration Campaign: $260,000
While the King family is taking the lead on restoration, this project is much bigger than any one household. The total cost is expected to exceed $450,000—with tower repairs alone accounting for $260,000. From structural repairs to future landscaping, maintenance, insurance, and accessibility—there’s a lot to tackle. Your support helps transform the Omro Fox Tower into a lasting community landmark, open for tours, gatherings, and future generations to experience and enjoy.
Cleanup and Safety
After years of neglect, storm damage, and weather related wear, our top priority is to clean up the site and make the tower weatherproof once again.
Roof Replacement
The roof on the main house has sustained significant storm damage, with multiple holes allowing water intrusion. We’ve contracted for a full replacement with a durable, commercial-grade standing seam roof, scheduled for early summer. The estimated cost for this essential upgrade is approximately $40,000.
Interior Home Repair
The interior of the main house needs several renovations and upgrades. This includes work on the plumbing, electrical, furnace, flooring, and bathroom fixtures. The home also requires fresh paint and improvements to the kitchen.
Main House - Brick, Windows, Woodwork
The main house requires significant repair to its windows and decorative woodwork. This includes restoring the soffit, fascia, exterior doors, porch, and stairways—areas where rot and weather damage have taken their toll. Additionally, brick repair and tuck pointing alone are estimated at $15,000.
Tower Repairs
As the pictures clearly show, the tower’s exterior brickwork is crumbling in several areas, most notably on the southeast corner. Fortunately, the tower is built on a solid steel framework, and the brick veneer is not structural. Repairing the brick across all seven stories is estimated at nearly $200,000. Window restoration throughout the tower will add another $60,000—both essential to bringing back the original character and presence of this architectural landmark.
