Cleanup and Safety Plan
Years of storm damage and neglect have left debris, sharp metal, open drop-offs, and structural hazards.
Our first priority is to clean up the site and make the tower weather-safe and secure. This means sealing windows, repairing doors, removing debris, and closing off dangerous access points before deeper restoration begins.
Roof Replacement
The roof on the main house has sustained significant storm damage, with multiple holes allowing water intrusion. We’ve contracted for a full replacement with a commercial-grade standing seam roof, scheduled for early summer. Estimated cost: ~$40,000.
Interior Home Repair
The interior of the main house needs several renovations and upgrades. This includes plumbing, electrical, furnace work, flooring replacement, and bathroom fixtures. In addition, the home requires fresh paint, kitchen improvements, and general modernization — all while preserving its historical character.
Brick, Windows & Woodwork
Time and weather have worn down the main house’s exterior. Our plan includes restoring deteriorating brickwork, repairing or replacing aged windows, and reviving wood details — including the soffit, fascia, porch, doors, and stairways. Brick tuck-pointing and structural woodwork repairs are estimated at $15,000, preserving the charm and structural integrity of this historic home.
Tower Repairs
The Omro Fox Tower remains structurally sound thanks to its steel I-beam and reinforced concrete framework. However, the outer brick veneer is failing — especially along the southeast corner — and requires full reconstruction. Brick restoration across all seven stories is estimated at **$200,000**, with another **$60,000** needed to restore the tower’s original windows. This is one of the most critical and costly phases of the restoration — but also the one that ensures the tower stands for generations to come.
